Does it feel hot in here?
“A Girl should be two things, classy and fabulous” ~Coco Chanel~

We are all in need of these things to make our hair look fantastic!!
What are they?
Hot Tools!!!
How many of you ladies have woken up in the morning to no electricity and no way to do your hair?
I’m talking no way to dry, straighten or curl! I’ve had this happen to me multiple times and It always seems to happen on days that I need to look and feel most confident.
I grew up in an area with older houses, (older houses meant older electricity and the more likely during a storm the electricity would go out, I’m sure everyone has had this happen at some point)
It was always worse during the summer. But it didn’t compare to the morning of waking up with no electricity on a day you needed a great hair day to happen.
So today we will be talking about some pretty cool hot tools and the best ones out there.
I’d also like to talk a little about price. Why expensive isn’t always best.
Let’s dive in!
Straightener
This is the only hot tool I really ever use for styling my hair. I can even curl my hair with it to get a nice beach wave curl and I can also straighten it. But, I usually curl my hair.
The one that I have is a 1 ½ inch with curved edges. This is the perfect size for curling. If you are using it for straightening a larger plate with straight edges would be better for your needs.

When it comes to price, if you need a straightener and you use it everyday and you have really curly hair that you have a hard time getting straight, I would invest in one. If not it’s okay to get more mid-grade brands when it comes to straighteners.
Blow dryer
There are so many options for blow dryers, in size and power. If you have really long thick hair and it takes forever for you to dry your hair, a more powerful blow dryer is what you need.

These however can be a little bit more pricey. For shorter hair and maybe a little less thick, you don’t need a powerful blow dryer. Always make sure that the blow dryer that you purchase has a hot medium and cold option. It’s preferred that you blow dry your hair with the warm setting, not the hot setting.
This can really damage your hair if you are not careful! It’s good to have a cool setting to give you hair a break, it is also good to have this setting if you round brush your hair as you are drying. blasting the hair with some cool air will help keep the curl in your hair better.
Curling irons
I think curling irons have the most variety out there for any hot styling tool. You have different length rods, different sized rods and a different barrels.

When it comes to what to buy just keep in mind what kind of curl that you want. I love big curls so my curling iron has a 2 inch barrel.

Prices on these can vary, I have some irons that are from a long time ago, and they still work well.
So it really depends on what you want to buy and what your budget will allow.
If you have any hot tools that you have questions about or want to learn a little more about any that I have mentioned, comment below or on my Facebook page I would love to hear from you.
I am going down to one post a week, so don’t worry, you didn’t miss my Tuesday post.
