Weird? The good thing, then, is that the whole world is getting weird, so normal means nothing unless one doesn’t wanna be normal. But who doesn’t have the feeling that though they might push away from it, they still want to be accepted enough by the herd to remain inside ‘the pale’.
I don’t wonder if they exist or not, I think that’s not a real question since biologically it’s clear enough that there’s others out there, that we came from out there from some of those others. Going to the extreme of subjectivity denies the body, though, and I think this separation of Mind from Body leads us down this lonesome road. The big guns thinkers like Kant or Descartes, were pretty well ensconced in that Mind separate from Body idea, so they could come up with things like “If I didn’t think it, is it there?” and can lead to thinking like Schrodingers Kitty which really has more to do with the idea of our own relativity to any observation. So it seems to me that the act of Thinking as an human construct, not the actual act of thinking, has been under the influence of a concept of Mind that is isolated from body, and as such, prone to delusions of isolation from the physical world.
