shit happens, what now?
shit happens
to me, to you, to everyone. period.
frequency of the shit happening may vary, but rest assured it’s coming.
coping strategy is needed since it IS gonna happen.
here’s how i deal with shit.
- accept it:
regardless of any other steps done after the first step, acceptance is key.
does that mean i like it? no, but if i won’t allow it to take over my emotions.
by accepting it instead of the “poor me” syndrome i can use that energy on possibly coming up with a work around. - wallow in it:
some people thrive on misery, it is not my cup of tea.
not only is it counter productive, it is self defeating.
if you do become aware you’re wallowing in it good!
“awareness” is the first step to dealing with anything.
now that you’re aware, accept that you wallowed in it, then proceed on. - walk away:
some shit i see coming. that negative “wallow in shit” co-worker is headed my way, hmmm…suddenly i need a potty break.
and so i didn’t get away in time, what now?
#1 accept it - clean it up:
while not always a pleasant enterprise, it will prevent wallowing; yours and any others that may “step in it”.
any strategies i’ve missed?
