the CHALLENGE

how dare he

so i was called out
and had a challenge cast in my court

THOMAS BARTON JD dared to have me read…
..a book.

specifically an “entire” book
(does he know i haz books like my daughter haz shoes?)

but not any book…
.. “the star thrower” by loren eiseley
(and i think how odd…this man does not use Caps) ;)

stinging w/indignation…
..who is “he” to point a question at me?

not one to be told WHAT to do…
..on my OWN volition i sought and i read

mesmerized was i

the lyrical quality of a D E E P E R message not lost on this frail mind

i knew not of loren eiseley previously…
..and barely of this “thomas barton jd”

but both men apparently know me…
..for the world of question and wonder
and delight of nature burns thru my veins
also

and i stopped transfixed
transfigured
morphed out of this so called “normal society”

NO man will TELL me what to do
how dare he

so now i have also read:
“the bird and the machine”
AND
“the judgement of the birds”

and now seek future fodder for my mind
