The vision for Union Deportiva Ibiza FC

Unión Deportiva Ibiza is a Spanish football team based in Ibiza Town, in the autonomous community of the Balearic Islands. Founded in 2015, it plays in Segunda Division B — Group 4, holding home matches at Estadi Municipal de Can Misses, with a capacity of 4,500 seats.

History

UD Ibiza was founded in 2015 with the aim to replace the former UD Ibiza-Eivissa that played two seasons in Segunda División B. In June 2017, the club promoted to Tercera División after spending two seasons in the Regional league.[1]

On 7 August 2018, after RFEF blocked Lorca FC’s participation in Segunda División B, Ibiza paid the club’s debts and achieved an administrative promotion to the third division.

My Vision for Ibiza — Attack Attack Attack

I want Ibiza to become internationally revered for their “beautiful attacking football” in the way Barcelona have been over the past decade and the counter-attacking style of Man United in the past, I want to position Ibiza as “the club of the future” in the battle for the next generation of football supporters as we bid to surpass the revenues of Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Manchester United.

I want us to be known as the team that plays the best football. That Ibiza is synonymous with a good game, with beautiful football. When a team plays well we want it said that it plays like they do in Ibiza. What we want is to be successful but playing well.

I believe Ibiza is well placed to become every supporter's club. Ibiza has a reputation as an entertaining electric party island, I want this reflected in our football.

I see Ibiza begin a dominant force in European football for years to come. I want to take Ibiza to the top of La Liga and win the Champions League on a regular basis.

Our footballing philosophy is to play a highly attacking brand of football whilst being solid at the back. We must absorb as much pressure as possible then being explosive on the counter.

I want us to press the opposition high up the pitch, basically Attack Attack Attack,

The longer-term goal is youth. I want to replicate what Barcelona achieved back in 2014 when they fielded a team that was made up of entirely of players that graduated through the legendary academy

Where are we now

I am looking for us to play 4–1–2–2–1 Wide. The keeper sweeping, joining in with the backline. A half-back dropping back making a back three allowing the wing backs to support the inside forwards, providing the width when they go inside.

I'm not looking to play with a recognized striker. Opting for a false nine instead

After 5 games we were in 6th position performing well in the 5 games.

Looking at the match stats, you can definitely see our attacking intent.

We are forcing that ball wide when we have the ball and keeping the opposition narrow when they have it.

The board wants us to achieve a top half finish, I want to push that to the playoffs just to experience how it works.

I have big hopes for Ibiza!
