Almost exactly 50 years ago today, Geraldine Chaplin was hanging on a theater curtain at Cannes, trying to keep festival organizers from showing the film she and her husband had made (It was May, 1968 in France, after all).

Five decades later, at the Panama International Film Festival in April, Geraldine Chaplin and her husband sat down with me and my partner Andrea Vaucher for a wide-ranging conversation, available on SoundCloud for the Film Comment podcast.

We talked about about that crazy time at Cannes, the joys of growing up as Charlie Chaplin’s daughter, her own long acting career (she’s been in 155 films and TV series), and working with directors and stars such as Robert Altman, Paul Newman, David Lean, Richard Attenborough and Alan Rudolph.

You’ll next see Geraldine in “Jurassic World.” She’s a wonderful story teller. Give it a listen if you would. She’s a delightful storyteller and it was a fun audio project I’m proud to have helped create.

I engineered and directed this project and Andrea researched, wrote and conducted most of the interview. We produced the project together. Give it a listen, if you would, here: https://soundcloud.com/film-comment/geraldine-chaplin
