I thought the same when I read his response. You wouldn’t write off those types of actions by any other employee in any field because they were “in a bad mood” or “pissed off”. We all have jobs, we all have bad days, and we don’t get a pass when we use that behavior as an excuse to act out (and certainly not when it’s a crime), having a badge does not excuse that behavior. I’m not surprised Carl didn’t respond to you or anyone else that left messages under that story. I’m not sure when meaningful change is coming to law enforcement but it sure feels that as a nation we’re reaching the tipping point.
