No Worship Without Skin in the Game
Nassim Nicholas Taleb

Protestantism and “skin in the game”

I must admit I’m not very well versed in christian doctrine but doesn’t the protestant urge to do away with ritual and other manifestations of faith run counter to the notion that “the strength of a creed … rests on … evidence of the skin in the game on the part of its worshippers”. By focusing on faith alone (five solae eg) and a personal relationship with Christ you move away from literal “skin in the game” toward a personal, intrinsic faith.
