First off, NO this is not the silver bullet your Facebook marketing reach whoa’s. However you will have success if employ this tactic with skill and the utmost Consideration.

“Consideration” , I’m sure you are asking yourself what the heck does that mean. Businesses posting on social media is naturally intrusive, let’s be real. But, this tactic may be apt to do more than irritate individuals. It may actually irritate the businesses that are irritating to the individuals.

Some of you might be doing fist pumps right now, saying YES! Give it to me DC, tell me how I can get vengeance back on those annoying brands. With that I say, Hold Up. Remember, you are one of those annoying brands or your client is one too! I know buzz kill.. 😕 But if this is employed correctly there are some good things that can come from it.

Question. How many of you do more than “just post” as your brand? Huh, is there more that you can do? Think for a minute. Hmm, what else could you do if you really wanted to engage with Facebook as your brand? The Human Based EXAMPLE: Do you think that if you went to a party and just stood in the middle of the room and started making random statements by yourself that people would look at you like your crazy, or be apt to interact with you and want to get to know you? I would say it would be more difficult for the crowd to want to engage or understand your context or any of that. OR, do you think it would be better to walk up to a person or group to wait to start talking when something interested you?

OK, on to the point. You all need to start using your Facebook Business Account as if you are a person. You need to visit other businesses pages as your business and engage in conversation. Go like posts that make sense and are valuable. NOW, remember from earlier I said “with Consideration”. Don’t login and go to town on one businesses page liking and commenting on everything. Start off easy, go like or comment on one post. If you have business partners you do work with, go leave them some praise. Do things that will bring value to that businesses page if at all possible.

I’ll close….With all things be considerate. Build good relationships. Provide great content. And people will come back to you and engage with you.
