Open Source means “as soon as I contributed this code to the community, I no longer own it.” Clearly, Azer realized yesterday that he owns left-pad and the other modules and he decided to take those modules with him when he left NPM. Leaving NPM was one choice (one that I admire). Taking “his” code with him was a separate choice (one that I can’t admire).
