ITMOS: In the Mind of Sterling
Part 1
Yes, I’m a sinner.
Who reading this is not?
I am riddled with error,
of your own have you forgot?
Defenses rise at mere mention of our own inadequacies,
yet the humble take the abuse.
Pride is to defend, deny, and rage in the moment.
Forgiveness comes from your ability to own it.
Perhaps only the fallen can recognize this truth,
“refusing to forgive is the tale of our youth”
What treasures we’ll uncover when seek not to bash,
when we throw down our whip to not glory the lash.
Deciding w’er we’ve bled yet enough,
is for you to not choose.
Take joy in the humble who recognize fault!
Perhaps the greatest joy this life can afford,
is to cultivate change!
For people can and they will!
Belief is the fuel.
Whip in your hand on the polished pedestal you’ve built,
is poison to your soul.
The grand irony is this: not until the coin is flipped will you understand.
