Personal Manifesto — Four Years Later

It’s been 4 years since I wrote my Personal Manifesto, and while it all still holds true, my priorities have shifted a bit since then, so I figured it’s due for an update.

Be kind.
Be kind to yourself.
Be kind to others, even those who might not deserve it. Often those who seem least deserving of kindness are the ones most in need of it.

Make the world a better place.
Do it in little ways or in big ways. But do it in your own way.

Do not feel to need to take on all the world’s problems .There will always be problem to solve, injustices to right, people in pain and suffering. Be aware of them, help where you can, in whatever ways feel right to you.

Give others as much respect as you give yourself.
Give yourself a lot of respect.
(Maybe even alot. Whatever that looks like.)

Most of all, be willing to forgive.
Be willing to forgive yourself, your friends, your enemies, and total strangers.

But seriously, be willing forgive yourself. Because you will screw up.
And being able to forgive yourself makes it easier to own up to your shortcomings.
