I think about this all the time.

This is very simplistic thinking. Mass killing does nothing more than make the US look as bad as the terrorists. “Surgical” drone strikes are bad enough. The problem is that our government has a knee-jerk reaction to events in the world that don’t really affect the every day lives of Americans. This is done on the premise that fighting “wars” over there prevents us from having to fight over here. It’s an illogical argument, but it seems to have carried the day as far as our foreign policy is concerned.
