It started out with routines and baby steps…
Walk the dog by noon, drink water, eat something. Limit naps.
Sit on the balcony for a bit until the skin gets too hot. Soul-search with an open mind.

Going to the gym. Funny memories. Thoughts about the future besides death and darkness.
Small talk in elevators, laughing, a body that doesn’t ache everywhere.
Job hunting. Being interviewed. Being proud of my past.
Setbacks and comebacks.
New haircut. Rosy cheeks. An attention span. Falling asleep before 4 am.
Options. Friends reappearing. Creativity. Hopes, and even a few dreams...
