Influence of Comedy

Comedy has played a huge role in my life. As a fat kid in high school I became the funny/goofy guy, kind of like Jonah Hill. This gave me somewhere to go and it brought me joy knowing that people were genuinely entertained by me. This is one of the reasons that influenced my radio dream. On the radio, you are not just a personality, but a friend. You talk to people and although you might not get to know the audience as close as you would want, they get to know you. I love the idea of entertaining people and bringing them joy.

I am generally a happy go lucky go. I always try to stay positive and be nice and kind to everyone. On the other hand, there are times that I am not happy, there are times that I can be filled with anger, generally towards myself. I tend to bottle these emotions and deal with them alone on my own time. This is a reason why I tend to go towards comedy. Comedy is fun, it is happy, joyful even. That is why I tend to lean towards comedy, I never try to be overly funny, that is to structured. I try to be natural and if I feel like saying something silly or doing something fun, I’ll do it.

Long story short, comedy has been a big part of my life, and seeing comedians bring joy to thousands inspires me to try the same. Maybe with comedy, maybe without.
