The Get Down: Season 1a (Friday August 12, Netflix)

Created by Baz Luhrmann and Stephen Aldy Guirgis, The Get Down follows the lives of a ragtag group of teens from the South Bronx in 1970s New York City. Starring Justice Smith (Paper Towns), Herizan Guardiola, Jaden Smith (The Karate Kid 2010) and Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad), The Get Down chronicles the beginnings of hip hop with its first six episodes premiering at 5pm on August 12.

Fringe: Seasons 1–5 (Friday August 12, Stan)

Fringe follows FBI Special Agent Olivia Dunham (Anna Torv) as she investigates unusual crimes and occurrences. Assisting her is a once institutionalised scientist (John Noble) and his son (Joshua Jackson) as they attempt to rationalise a brewing storm of unexplained phenomena. All five seasons of this hit sci-fi show from J.J. Abrams will be available to binge watch on Stan.

Coraline (Saturday August 13, Presto)

A girl named Coraline is exploring her new home, where she discovers a secret door to an alternate world that is similar to her own, and seems slightly better. Directed by Henry Selick (The Nightmare Before Christmas), this stop-motion animated film is based on the dark fantasy novella by Neil Gaiman.

Younger: Seasons 1–2 (Wednesday August 17, Stan)

Created by Darren Star (Sex and the City), Younger follows Liza (Sutton Foster, Bunheads), a 40-year-old woman who pretends to be 26 to get a job in a highly competitive industry. When she lands her dream role, Liza has to figure out how to pass herself off as a 20-something to her colleague Kelsey Peters (Hillary Duff, Lizzie Maguire).

Black Mass (Wednesday August 17, Netflix)

This 2015 biographical drama follows Irish mobster Whitey Bulger (Johnny Depp), who eluded arrest for years by making a deal with FBI Agent John Connolly (Joel Edgerton) to fight the Italian mob.
