The Rubix Cubicle
Let me get this straight…
You are going to pay me money to sit in a 6 foot by 6 foot by 6 foot cube.
I’ll do some tasks. I’ll work. But not too fast. I need the tasks to last 8 hours.
I’ll throw in some fluff. Maybe walk to the water cooler. Maybe open my file browser a couple of times. Maybe draft an email I’ll never send.
I’ll gaze out the open window (barely visible over my cubicle wall) and think about my lost dreams. I’ll long for the day. You know what I’m talking about, the day. The day I’ll walk out of here triumphantly, on to bigger and better things.
But for the time being I’ll just sit in a cube.
Longing. Waiting. Working.
And you’ll pay me money.
I think I understand.
When do I start?
