On August 25th I shared my thoughts about the French Tennis Federation president, Bernard Giudicelli, stating that Serena Williams’s ‘power suit’ would be banned by the FTF.

I mean……who else but Queen Serena has taken more hits from opponents, commentators and fans, for years, and acted like a duck and let it all roll off her back?

So, it came as no surprise when Serena took the court on Monday, Aug. 27th wearing a Nike x Virgil Abloh Off-White tutu from the “QUEEN” collection.

Her game is fierce, but her tutus have been a powerful backhand to the establishment stating…..You don’t know how to deal with me, but you know you love me.

Besides rocking tutus in her 2 matches, Serena has been wearing tights by Nude Barre. (Shout out to Erica Ayisi for writing a great article about Nude Barre and Erica Carpenter, the Founder.)

As Serena prepares to face her sister, Venus, in the third round of the US Open today (8/31) I expect her to don another lights-out outfit, but I also wouldn’t be surprised if both she and Venus make very visible statements!

As we say……the world will be watching.
