Public hearing on the Albany County Capital Plan for 2018–2022

The Albany County Legislature will accept public comment on the Albany County Capital Program for 2018–2022 and three proposed local laws starting at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday in the Legislative Chambers of the Albany County Courthouse.
The summary of the proposed Albany County Capital Program for 2018 to 2022 is available for inspection by clicking here. The plan provides an estimate of Albany County’s capital needs, associated costs and preliminary funding mechanisms. All projects are subject to changes.

There will also be a public hearing on proposed Local Law No. “X” for 2016. Introduced by Legislator Andrew Joyce (D-Albany), an Army veteran who served tours of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan, the legislation would ensure that any military veteran discharged for their lesbian/gay/bisexual/transgender status under the “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” law would receive all benefits and privileges that Albany County owes to them.

The Albany County Legislature holds public hearings nearly every month and before adopting local laws, its Capital Program and specific legislation. Those wishing to address the body must sign up prior to the meeting and are permitted to speak for five minutes.
