I would have been sterilized and institutionalized most likely. While I didn’t have children out of wedlock, my family likely would have been named “imbeciles” simply because my parents were not… the most upstanding people.

Many people in my generation tend to see Eugenics as a way to combat movies like Idiocracy. However, I feel that people — especially those that seem to think they are so superior to decide who is morally “correct” and who is and isn’t intelligent — use it as a means to control groups that they look down upon. Thank you for this writeup — not only is it incredibly well-written, but it serves as a warning of how horridly we treated people because of “genetic” origin.
