President Trump continues to test the limits of our country’s democratic norms — attacking everything from voting-by-mail and the U.S. Postal Service to illegally telling people to vote twice and urging voter intimidation at the polls. Trump has even refused to commit to a peaceful transfer of power (multiple times) should he lose the election. These attacks were on full display during the first Presidential debate last week.

Democratic Attorneys General, once again, are on the front lines — using every legal tool available to protect the integrity of the upcoming election and ensure every eligible vote is counted.

PEACEFUL TRANSITION OF POWER

DAGA Co-Chairs Massachusetts AG Maura Healey and Oregon AG Ellen Rosenblum spoke up saying, “Democratic AGs know how to take Trump to court and win. We are more than prepared to do so again. The will of the American people must be heard.” Democratic AGs have called on Republican AGs to speak up — like Republican Senators and Members of Congress — but Republican AGs remain silent. Former Congressman — and failed perennial candidate for statewide office in Indiana — Todd Rokita put out a new ad misleading Hoosiers about his years of attacks on health care and repeated efforts to deny protections for pre-existing conditions, coverage for preventive care, and access to affordable health care for Hoosier seniors.

In the ad, Rokita claims he will protect pre-existing conditions as Attorney General. That is a blatant lie.

In Congress, Todd Rokita voted more than 50 times to repeal or amend the Affordable Care Act including votes to eliminate protections for people with pre-existing conditions. …

Matt Larkin, the Washington Republican AG candidate, has repeatedly referred to himself as a “proven prosecutor” with experience “in Spokane and Pierce counties” or as someone who hasprosecuted on both sides of the mountains.” For example, in a video Larkin produced for the Washington Republican Party Convention on June 29, Larkin says, “I prosecuted in Pierce and Spokane Counties.”

The only thing Larkin is proven to be is misleading. Public records reveal Matt Larkin is not being truthful about his experience with voters.
