Thanks for the excellent article. Alice Miller’s book “For Your Own Good” is a fascinating read on this topic. She was a German psychiatrist who asked the question, “how could we, as a people, do this?” Even more fascinating is to read at the same time Bruno Bettleheim’s book “Freud’s Vienna and Other Essays.” He was a Jewish psychiatrist who survived the camps and asked the question, “how could we, as a people, let this happen to us?”
