Descrow became a partner with the Latvian blockchain and cryptocurrency union
Descrow platform has signed a partnership agreement with the Latvian blockchain union. The organization is engaged in social and educational activities concerning cryptocurrency and blockchain technologies.
We remind you that Latvia currently is one of the few countries in which bitcoin has got a certain legal status. At 9 November 2017 the government presented amendments to the law against money laundering and terrorism. One of the innovations was the emergence of such concepts as “virtual currency” and “person providing virtual currency services”, and establishing oversight functions for activities in the spheres of money laundering and terrorism prevention. Thus, the providers of digital currency related services are included in the list of subjects of the Law, along with credit and financial institutions, notaries and lawyers.
