How to ask for a raise?
You need to stop talking about yourself, to begin with! Put yourself in the employer’s shoes and think from their perspective. Why and how, giving you a raise would benefit them in any way?
Put forth that exact discussion in front of them. “Hey boss, it’s been an absolute pleasure working at this company so far and in my opinion, I’ve truly put in my best efforts to help this company grow. I’m at that point in my career where I aspire to make some more income, what in your opinion would help me add more value to this company? If I do happen to meet that criterion, would you consider giving me a raise?”
This is the most subtle way to get out the most valuable answer firsthand without sounding too demanding or greedy and without threatening your relationship with your boss.
