It’s Time To Write!

I am an architect. I should be a master at weaving stories around my designs and concepts and convincing clients to make ‘win-win’ choices. I should be a master at the spoken and sometimes, the written word. They say actions speak louder than words. But do they really? Times have changed. Humanity has become more spohisticated. People prefer writing rather than throwing chairs in the parliament or vandalizing News studios. Well, most do.

It’s a new year. With the New Year come the resolutions and the resolute will to follow them through the year. I don’t make resolutions. At least not consciously. Sub-consciously however, right now, I am deciding that I should start writing more. Lots more. Writing, mostly about the everyday and the mundane. And sometimes, about the amazing happenings in the world. At the back of every writer’s mind, there is hope that people will read his banter. But right now, I am telling myself that I don’t care about the stats for this piece. I just want to feel like the caged bird who found a way out into the open skies; into freedom. Writing is the answer to sanctity. Not like it matters, just seemed like a good filler statement.

There is a great deal happening all around us, all around the city. There is a lot that needs to be written, read, spoken about and discussed. It has to be done for the sake of development — of the city and of the mind. We need to grow up and become better citizens of this world. We need to get responsible. There has to be a sizable change in the way things are working out for this city and for this community. Change for the better, of course! There is one sure shot way of doing that. This is the time to WRITE!
