Day 8 of #selfeducate: Acupressure for Headache Relief

I get a lot of headaches. I take advil when they are really bad, but I don’t think it is good to take it all the time. I have heard of using acupressure to relieve pain (and I occasionally try it) but today I wanted to know a little bit more about which pressure points might be most helpful.

There seem to be five general regions in which you can apply pressure to relieve headache pain. Either applying steady pressure or massaging these areas can help.

  1. Temples
  2. Inner ends of the eyebrows (just above your nose)
  3. Top of the neck/bottom of the skull
  4. In between the thumb and pointer finger
  5. In between the big toe and second toe (the valley)

I would try acupuncture because I have head that works as well BUT I don’t have the money to spend on that. However, I have read that daith piercings help relieve headaches.

I haven’t figured out if I like the look of this piercing or not. Honestly I don’t really care what it looks like if it will keep me from having so many headaches!

Short post today. As you may have guessed, I have a headache.
