Hello World…Again!
I realized that I never introduced myself. Here we go!
My name is David Herskowitz and I am 20 years old. I’m interested in: marketing, design, technology, start-ups, business, and faking it till you make it.
My Story
When I was 15, while I was interning at my uncle’s IT company, one of his clients had come in to the office, because his laptop was stolen from his car. While ordering him a new laptop, he started to tell my Uncle about his business and its lack of a good web presence. Me, being the curious guy I am, decided to pop my head in, and pitch myself solving their marketing problem. I had no prior experience; I was faking it till I was making it.
Anyways, the client hired me! I had the opportunity to develop a marketing strategy to maintain and grow the customer base of a large optometry practice in New Jersey. The system I implemented targeted potential patients using social media, as well as bi-weekly advertisements in the local newspapers. The response to this initiative was outstanding — we brought in three to five new patients a week. As a result of my work, I received glowing recommendations from the doctors, and have since added them to my steady and growing client base.
TL;DR: I’m 20 years old, from NYC. I love tech and am fascinated by how things are created. Oh yea — and I started a marketing and graphic design firm when I was 15.
