Technology has come a long way, and the proof of that lies in the commonplace devices that would have been unbelievable technological marvels mere decades ago. Such devices include smartphones, laptops, tablets and many more. These form the basis of our modern society and permeate every aspect of life including personal, economic and social life. You couldn’t live without your computer or smartphone even if you tried.

Nevertheless, while their usefulness is undeniable, the fact is that something about these digital devices has been a cause of significant worry in the recent past — they emit harmful blue light. Being constantly in front of a screen therefore puts you at risk of the numerous harmful effects of blue light. But what is it about blue light that makes it such a big deal?

What is Blue light?

Well, the visible light we use to see is a tad more complicated than you might imagine. It’s a part of the electromagnetic spectrum and sits in-between ultraviolet rays (UV) and infrared light rays. Furthermore, visible light is composed of many different colours that represent the components with different wavelengths.
