Holy shit! That is good…over my head, but good.

Haha! Indubitably. And if it was over your head but you felt it at all, then the aim of rattling bones was met. Thank you, for the kind words. As always I look forward to reading yours. In a nutshell mine is about We Live in Public, Big Data (of the kind the average user/used plays a part in regardless of will or knowledge), quantified selves and more specifically, a story I was recently told… a wealthy man’s bank sold on metrics of his value, bought and paid for by an exclusive time-piece company. The watch company sent him a gift (to his hotel room) with a discount on an expensive model. He likely bought it at below market value, whether to keep or profitably resell. I imagined he thought only of what he was getting, rather than what had been gotten from him. We’re sleepwalking into the devaluation of everything by data and value-compilers placing value upon while extracting value from every able-to-be-monetised aspect of our lives. This gives me pause for concern, especially when those doing so are so often selling us acquiescence under the guise of empowerment and assisting us in bettering our lives.
