The Truth About Blogging

Do you hear that?

Sometimes, if you listen really carefully, late at night … you can hear the cries of people who still think blogging is too difficult.

The ones just getting started, desperate to discover some kind of trick that will allow them to skip ‘the grind’.

The truth is, I love blogging, which is why I’m going to share with you the 3-step formula for blogging, the only thing you need to succeed.

Not only is it a fun, creative outlet, but blogging is also an effective long-term strategy to build an online business, providing virtually limitless traffic. It’s a tool to engage and build rapport with an audience, and increase your authority online, plus it gives you a forum through which you can provide solutions to your target market.

You are not missing out on “the big secret” of gurus, I promise.

You already, in fact, have everything you need, right now, to make a lot of money blogging.

It all boils down to this simple 3 step formula. Ready?

1. A Consistent Message

When you promote a dozen deals, constantly change course (and change your message), your audience will abandon you. Oh, they may still hang around, especially if they are friends and family, but they won’t pay any attention to what you are saying.

People naturally gravitate toward stability and consistency.

With that in mind, consider the following:

  • What are you promoting?
  • What’s your vision?
  • Why should people join you?

Ask yourself these crucial questions, and then commit to publish content that attracts the kind of people you are looking for on a consistent basis — remember, you are solving a problem for your target market and everything you create is directed to showing them you have the solution to their problem.

Make sure you give a clear call to action in every single blog post.

The vast majority of your future customers are currently jumping from blog to blog, from opportunity to opportunity, from email list to email list — looking for … you.

This is your chance to be different. To rise above “shiny object syndrome.” A lot of people will come and go in your online business, but the right people, the serious people, will always come back to someone who remains consistent with their message — promoting the same products, following the same vision.

What are you promoting? What products/service/opportunity are you standing by? What is your vision? Why should people stand join you and stand by it?

2. Create Content Consistently

Be consistent with creating content. You can focus less on targeting high ranking keywords or worrying about SEO. In the end, if you cover topics relevant and important to your target market, you will naturally include a lot of relevant keywords in your content

What’s more important is to create your content consistently, whether it’s every day, 3 times a week, or once a week, although if you are trying to build your audience, the more you post content, the faster it will build. If you can, you should post every day when you’re just getting started. Until your traffic builds up.

That’s all. If you not getting traffic after 90 days of consistent posting, you need to change your promotion strategy.

3. Promote Intelligently

How do you get the traffic?

It starts with creating and publishing blog posts, but then you need to promote them.

Don’t rely on luck for people to find your content. Build bridges to it …

… in the form of backlinks and social shares.

Here are a few ways to promote …

  • Post in forums relevant to your target market. Put a link to your blog in your signature.
  • Guest post on other blogs, with an entire article and links throughout.
  • Share your blog post on every social platform you are able to.

What’s important is to find out what works best for your content and do it consistently.
