Really interesting, thank you. I heard a lot of people say that start-ups lose themselves when they start having a structured organization with “layers” of management, because they lose their entrepreneurship spirit. I can hear this argument, but to me, with growth comes a required need for delegation of decision making and other responsibilities. Without this real delegation, either everybody does what they want or there are constant bottlenecks by the person who is recognized as having the decision making leadership. In either case, it is not good for the company. I see it much more beneficial to everybody to define clear spaces of responsibility and lines of reporting so people can navigate fairly independently and be empowered to do so, without chaos.
