Digix Dev Update — 30th Jan 2018 Final Audit, Deployment to Kovan, Republic Protocol, Presentations and Meetups
Final Draft Audit Report Delivered
The final draft audit report has been delivered by our smart contract security auditors. Our devs have already began looking at the issues identified and will be fixing them in the interim. The report together with our responses, would be published as we did similarly in our last developmental update.
We remain confident of launching DGX 2.0 in Q1 2018.
Deployment of contracts onto Kovan
We would be deploying our full suite of smart contracts for DGX 2.0 onto the Kovan Public test net this week once the bugs highlighted in the audit report are addressed.
Partnerships: Republic Protocol and Digix
We recently announced a partnership with Republic Protocol. Republic Protocol is creating a decentralised dark pool exchange for cross-chain atomic trading, with bitcoin (BTC), ether (ETH) and ERC-20 tokens intended as the first traedable assets on the platform.
With this partnership, Republic users will be able to trade these tokens on a hidden order book with DGX tokens, which are redeemable for 1 gram of 99.99% LBMA standard gold per token. This will allow them to hedge against the volatile cryptocurrency markets through a stable store of value such as gold.
We are pleased to partner with Republic Protocol and are confident that the tradability of DGX tokens on many different platforms illustrates the immense utility, as well as long term potential, of having a stablecoin that helps our DGX holders weather through volatility while being backed by a valuable real-world asset.
Community Engagement and Ethereum Singapore meetups
Zilliqa invited Digix to attend the event at their offices where a contingent of Vietnamese CEOs were present to hear more about Blockchain Startups in Singapore. We were amongst Anquan Capital and Zilliqa as one of 3 blockchain companies presenting that evening.
To our delight, following the presentation, we have received interest from several of these Vietnamese CEOs who were interested in finding out more about our business and how they could invest in our tokens. This also prompted several suggestions and offers to meet in Vietnam — all in all, we are excited about what this means for Digix as Vietnam proves to be an emerging market with potential in the future!
During the past week, we hosted PolicyPal Network, Tomocoin and TenX at the Ethereum Singapore meetups. We have seen a staggering number of attendees in the range of over a 100, with these attendees being a good mix of veterans and enthusiastic newcomers to the blockchain space. This is indeed a lively start to 2018 and we are excited to be doing our part in growing the blockchain community in Singapore!
Over this week till mid-Feb before Chinese New Year, we have these meetups scheduled so far:
Please visit our meetup page for details and to RSVP if you are in Singapore. We would be glad to have you join us!
