Will a hardfork affect Digix?

The recent weeks have left everyone in a state of anxiety and uncertainty. We want to assure the public that DigixGlobal is still working hard in relaunching the new marketplace ETA end of July, and not giving up on the platform which we have spent building our product on for the past 2 years.

DigixGlobal remains neutral to the hard forking / no forking propositions, and sincerely hopes that the issue gets resolved as quickly as possible for the benefit of the entire ecosystem.

Is a hard fork or no fork disastrous to DigixGlobal, DigixDAO, or more importantly, would it be negative / positive for Ethereum as a whole?

One thing to point out is that there has never been a similar precedence to the issue at hand. The closest to this was the bitcoin block size debacle and a bug that allowed the creation of 92bio bitcoins in 2010, both of which are inadequate comparisons to what is happening now.

Our stance, however, is that Digix will be on the network that has the potential for the greatest user adoption, the greatest synergies amongst Dapps, the greatest chance of being with an ecosystem of amazing and yet unthought of, mind blowing applications that are being built entirely for the new decentralised economy.

We acknowledge that this is difficult to decide in and of itself, but we do expect more clarity and better assurances on how to move forward in the next week or two, when important decisions will be made on Ethereum. We have full confidence in the way the Foundation is helping to resolve this and the developers who are working day and night to fix this.
