Yeah, that was really infuriating.

There’s an unwritten rule in the NBA where if there’s an obvious intentional fouling situation then the defenders ease up a little bit on the contact and the refs give them the call. This is a good thing; in those situations we don’t want players fouling so hard that they cause injuries because the team really needs the foul. When defenders make light contact the refs are suppose to read the intent make the call.

Except that, like, 1 in 20 times or something the refs just don’t make the call for whatever reason and you get a ridiculous sequence like the one from the Spurs game. It’s very frustrating.
