Mobile is amazing. Right now I’m listening to new music that i’ve just discovered. A group from Illonois. I’m in Durban. I’m typing this. On the meduim application. I’m checking email, scrolling on instgram — the usual smartphone activity.
I’m also on twitter; Dilosen Naicker — and all on a single device, smaller than my scientific calculator ( sorry, seems I will always have a calculator on me, Grade 9 maths teacher).
It sometimes astounds me when I gain a true realisation of the power and human ingenuity I have in my palms. Mobile is an amazing human advancement.
In writing this, I chose to do it on my mobile device instead of my laptop. As 'taxing' as it may seem, mobile with good UI and UX (holla, Medium), allows me and others to write something quick, whenever I feel like it, wherever (nd hw everr). Apps like Twitter and Instagram provide seamless ways to communicate using a single device and have refined device capablites to better suit their users. Applications with amazing UI and UX create demand in attention is flawless, simply because more devices are ending up in hands, and more users filter their attention based on certain criteria. Applications that understand their desired user needs can focus in delivering a well rounded service that dominates user attention.
These days I can upload direct to YouTube, and in the SA market, that’s big. Imagine the live events that can be streamed. The potential is so broad. And I’m talking from a user perspective.
I’m wafting. These are just some thoughts I have, in rough. Pardon my tardiness.
