If no one says anything else to you today, know and recognize that your emotions are valid.
You have every right to be outraged, you have every right to be angry, you have every right to feel defeated, overwhelmed, forgotten or in a state of disbelief. You have every right to worry about your future and the everlasting impact of last night’s election. You have every right to worry about the economy, women’s rights, religious freedoms, human rights, and the future of immigration (for those documented and undocumented). You have every right to fear for your black, brown, or yellow skin in the new white America. You have every right to feel every emotion, every concern, every ounce of malaise. The wound is fresh, let it fester and ooze…
As life continues to drag us by the ropes over rocks and stones, recognize that one day we will look back and see that we have been used to cut a path and mark a trail.
Today, we hurt — but tomorrow, the fight continues.
