INT. SPACE STATION — NIGHT…

MILLAND slips into the half-light of the room, hides behind a box to the left. Seconds later KOSSEK appears in the door. A hammer in his hand stands out from his silhouette. After a beat…

KOSSEK (they whisper throughout): Milland?…It’s me, Kossek.

Milland is relaxing a bit.

MILLAND: Over here-

Kossek is about to go there…

MILLAND: No, no. Hide on the other side of the door. If they come in, one of us may slip out…

Kossek hesitates, then proceeds as told.

MILLAND: Did you turn around? Are they close?

KOSSEK: Nah, I guess they lost us for now…

MILLAND: Still got your hammer?

KOSSEK: Until my last breath, you can bet. What in hell happened with them?

MILLAND: Don’t know. Some sort of virus… Wonder how it could happen so fast…

KOSSEK: Wonder why we’re sane.

MILLAND: That’s the point….Who says, we won’t turn into…something…like they did?

Kossek yawns. Milland searches the dark for something.

MILLAND: May I be honest? Your hammer makes me nervous.

KOSSEK: What?! A horde of…whatever…hunting us in this can, and our only weapon makes you nervous??

MILLAND: Your weapon, to be precise.

KOSSEK: I think you are the one approaching insanity, Mister. And sorry, in that case, you should be nervous about my hammer!

MILLAND: Look, you can’t kill em all. We’d have to run anyway. We have to think of a smart way. Manipulate oxygen, pressure... But I can’t be smart under these conditions.

Kossek’s hammer drums slightly on the box he’s hiding behind. TOCK. TOCK.TOCK.TOCK.

KOSSEK: A-da-ha-pt.

Almost immediately there are footsteps outside. Plenty.

Kossek stops drumming. Milland bolts towards us, mumbling a curse.

Kossek gets up, appears to put his hammer on the floor. As the noise comes closer, he curses loudly and runs toward us, with the hammer standing out from his silhouette.
