Public Good — the network for civic engagement (media kit)

What is Public Good?

Public Good is a Benefit Corporation that accepts donations on behalf of all 1.1 million nationwide nonprofits. Trusted by the nation’s leading media partners, corporations and foundations, Public Good’s platform empowers people to Take Action when they have read about an issue and are motivated to make positive change in the world.

Who’s behind Public Good?

Jason Kunesh and Dan Ratner are startup veterans who helped found leading online marketplaces like Orbitz, The Point (later Groupon) and Sittercity.com. In 2011 they were asked to come join the technology leadership of President Obama’s reelection campaign and they spent the next eighteen months learning from the best organizers in the world and helping build the tools that underpinned the largest online fundraiser and volunteer mobilization in history.

After the campaign, they decided to combine these experiences and build publicgood.com — the first tool to really reflect how people think about charity: starting with a cause, going out to the community to find out who is doing good work, and ultimately connecting with a charity to make a contribution.

The senior team at Public Good has extensive collective experience building marketplaces including Groupon, Orbitz, Sittercity and Threadless.
