Start where you are with what you have

Start now. Start where you are. Start with fear. Start with pain. Start with doubt. Start with hands shaking. Start with voice trembling but start. Start and don’t stop. Start where you are, with what you have. Just… start.”

What better way to start a brand new year than this beautiful quote by Ijeoma Umebinyuo

A new year can be a perfect time to make changes to things that we’re not really happy with.

But with all this change it can sometimes seem hard to be hopeful. The steps needed to make the change seem huge, no matter how high the motivation.

It’s hard when things don’t seem that hopeful especially when everyone else seems to be sharing all their hopes and inspirations when you don’t really feel like you have any. Try not to focus on that.

Some people have ambitions to run marathons, climb mountains, lose weight etc an then there’s you who might be struggling with things that should be ‘simple’.

But let me tell you that there’s no such thing as a ‘simple’ thing. Everything takes times and effort. Everyday someone climbs their own mountain and runs their own marathon. We don’t all get medals but our challenge is no less.

So it’s January first. You might not feel that great thinking about all the huge challenges facing you over the next 365 years.

But remember… You’ve got this :)
