About Me

Hi there!

First of all, it means the world to me that you’re here. Whether you’re just passing through, lurking, chatting, or here to stay, each and every one of you is invaluable, and I’ll never be able to thank you enough. ❤

Below you’ll find a little info about myself, my reasons for streaming, and some of the games I enjoy. I’ll probably add to this as time goes on!

Who I am: You can call me Dooks! I’m currently 28 years old. I’ve been lurking around since the Justin TV days. Twitch has been near and dear to me for a long long while; although it’s only recently that I’ve started to make some really great friends here, and I wouldn’t be streaming if it wasn’t for them. As far as outside of Twitch is concerned I’ve worked crappy retail jobs, been a barista, and was even a blacksmith for a while (I still have my workshop). I’ve done a game jam or two and programmed quite a few lill projects/games in my spare time as well. It’s a hobby I couldn’t recommend enough. Gaming, and the games industry in general, is a real passion for me; finding hidden gems, getting excited about new titles, and falling in love with a game is sorta the best thing ever.

Why I’m streaming: There are few reasons why I’ve decided to start streaming, although the leading factor could be considered short sighted or even selfish. Like a lot of people out there I struggle with depression and anxiety issues. It’s only semi-recently that I've acknowledged and attempted to deal with them. I lied to myself and chose to ignore these things for a long time; something I’m not proud of. I've done my best to put those days behind me, move forward, and take the steps needed to get better. One of the seemingly small side effects of all that mess was the change in my gaming habits. I found it harder and harder to finish a game. I know it’s a minor thing in comparison to all the other garbage that comes along with issues like these, but it still sucked. It’s hard to put into words exactly but I started to lose one of my favorite things in the whole world, my motivation and passion to simply play games. Ever since I started to take better care of myself and address my problems, things have improved ten-fold. Please understand I’m not asking for pity or sympathy here. I’ve got a long ways to go, but I’m doing much better than I was a couple years ago. The main reason I decided to start streaming was to continue this trend; for it to be an outlet for me, to push myself to do more of something I love … to play some god damn video games!

Growing a community, making new friends, and providing a consistent positive atmosphere for people to enjoy are all things I would love to work towards. If they happen over time, organically, it would be an absolute dream come true. These all take a great deal of effort and patience, but if you would like to join me on this journey I welcome any and all of you along for the ride!

Games I enjoy: I started out when I was younger playing things like Halo, Warcraft 3 (SO many custom maps!), Counter Strike, Day of Defeat, Runescape, weird free to play MMOs and so much more. I played whatever I could get my little hands on. Today it’s pretty much the same story; I enjoy all SORTS of different games: small indie stuff, triple A titles, sandbox games, competitive stuff, etc. That sorta means I’m not really “great” at anything though, a jack of all trades, master of none kinda deal. I’ll list some games I’m currently into below; some of which you might see me streaming:

  • Starbound
  • Overwatch
  • Rocket League
  • Minecraft
  • Skyrim
  • Life is Feudal
  • 7 Days to Die
  • Age of Wonders 3
  • Evochron Legacy
  • Torchlight 2
  • SMITE
  • DOTA 2
  • the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series
  • Paladins
  • and much, much more
