At DoorDash, our product development teams are divided up to focus on each of our three core customers: consumers, merchants and Dashers. For those of us on the Dasher team we regularly speak with Dashers from around the country to figure out how we can make dashing easier for Dashers everywhere.
We quickly learned that Dashers often had specific questions as they were carrying out deliveries. Where should I go to get orders quickly? How big is my next order going to be? What do I do if I get multiple orders? We learned that by simplifying the dashing experience and providing more information to Dashers, we could make dashing as easy for a new Dasher as it is for the most experienced. So we redesigned the Dasher app from the ground up to make dashing more intuitive.
Today we are rolling out an all new Dasher app on iOS and Android that makes dashing simpler than ever before. So whether Dashers are placing an order at Taco Bell, picking up multiple orders, or on the way to delight another customer, the all new Dasher app helps finish deliveries quicker and more efficiently.
Faster
The new step-by-step guide breaks down each delivery into its component parts, letting Dashers deliver at the speed of delight in no time.
Smarter
One of the best ways Dashers make the most of their time is by knowing when and where to work. Dashers can now scout out high demand areas with the new map feature, and see delivery details like the pickup, dropoff location and subtotal before accepting the order.
More flexible
Having the flexibility to work when, where, and for how long you want is a key aspect of being a Dasher. The new app is built with flexibility in mind. Dashers can just open up the app and start a dash with no pre-scheduling, extend the dash on-the-go, pause to take a break, or schedule a new dash while on a dash.
