How many people actually believe that ideals are not achievable?

You are right to say that the distorted ideology of a mass of people can cause tremendous suffering. (Just look at Nazism or Communism) But the argument you were making was that to strive towards anything that does not exist in reality is wrong. “even though none of these ideals has ever been achieved anywhere anytime by any society. Ever.” So there is no sense in wanting more freedom, justice and equality in the world?
