Your words last longer than your feelings

It was getting late and past time for our daughter to be in bed. I was frustrated and just wanted to bring my day to a close. She had a different idea. As I grew more and more tired, I began to allow my fatigue to dictate attitude.

I plopped down and sighed as if to say, “Thank God thats over”. She looked at me and said,

“You know your words last longer than your feelings right?”

The intelligence my wife possesses is only overshadowed by her wisdom. I love that I’m married to someone who loves me enough to call me out.

She reminded me that my feelings will change but what I say and how I act doesn’t dissipate so easily.

Think before you act. Think before you speak. Your words last longer than your feelings.
