iPhone Down
I did something radical today. I woke up. I reached for my iPhone. And, I turned it off.
Then I powered down my Apple Watch. Then I turned off my Kindle (which oddly doesn’t have a power off feature — so I closed it and tossed it in a drawer).
Wow! That felt good! Now what?
I’m not sure. I’m surprised that I’m not uncomfortable or anxious. I actually feel a bit free — like “Why didn’t I do this before?” I’m kind of excited to see what happens today.
Just to be clear, I didn’t put my iPhone to sleep. I actually powered it down — something I’ve done only a handful of times since I bought my first iPhone — 8 years ago in July 2007.
I remember the first time I powered it off — about 6 months in, on a flight, back in the days before airplane mode. I was then surprised to realize I didn’t actually know how to power it off — but my first guess worked. Gotta love that about Apple :-) [By the way — if you hold down the sleep button — you’ll get an option to power off your iPhone. Try it out — just for the novelty!]
Ok — that’s it for this blog today.
I’m Going Analog..
PS: I have a confession to make. After about a minute, I turned my iPhone back on and snapped a screenshot of the lock screen, so I can remember the date I turned decided to unplug. Then, I powered down again! Wow — twice in one day. That’s probably a world record!
