The Better Angels Of Personal Responsibility

DOC.COM is free basic healthcare for all in need, but for everyone else it is a moment to participate, a chance to change the world. DOC.COM is a Truth that needs to be spread, there is work to be done — a call to action. By sharing your knowledge of the project you shine down the light of edification, emboldening others to further research and share what they learn. This process is the root of our grass, this is how all of us can further the vital community awareness DOC.COM deserves. This is how we can help bring Healthcare Justice to bare.

Today the DOC.COM Community understands that a critical US launch of our humanitarian project is on the near horizon. We understand that even the wealthiest nation on earth is home to millions of people who cannot afford access to healthcare. Many of the narratives threading American history are rich with heroes who fought for social justice. Arguably the greatest among them was Abraham Lincoln, the 16th President of the United States, who likened the call to fight for social justice to that of being touched by “the better angels of our nature.” This now legendary turn of phrase was a rethinking of the abrahamic sense of guardian angels. Why the subtle change from “guardian” to “better?” Because the better angels are within us, they are the inner fortitude that competes with our baser instincts. Our better angels are what bring our hearts to our best instinct — personal responsibility.

It is arguable that most people of the world believe in the value of universal life, that all human lives are equally valuable, and yet around the world, governments and their populations cannot agree on the value of universal healthcare. Popular dialog is run off the tracks by heartless relativism. People begin to utter there counter arguments: “what about survival of the fittest?” To them I ask what is your definition of fit and how can this paradoxical argument sit in the same heart that swears all life is universally valuable? In the face of the existential crises of the absence of free basic healthcare, in some cases across entire nations, over half the world’s population to be exact, our (inaction) as a society becomes a spiritual, emotional, and psychic atrophy (in action.)

Do you believe in the value of humanity’s existence or do you believe in your existence alone? Because evolution — whether biological, cultural, or socio-political — does not happen on the level of the individual. It is either human evolution or it is human extinction. We have choices to make and should it be a collection of choices and not the right collective choice we will all share in the consequences (equally.) Not a small irony considering the right choice is enabling all of mankind regardless of wealth to be possessed by the benefits of healthcare (equally.)

Social activism and its lesser forms of support for what is right is not easy in the sense that it is actual work — it can be Yeoman’s work. The hardest part seems to be dedicating oneself to the relief and benefit of some other person — a stranger. To some degree all of our lives are difficult and all of us face varying degrees of challenge. If you have refrained from social justice work consider the following:

Start by looking at your personal modes of suffering. Self-examine the ways and means of how and why you hurt. Determine at what disadvantage you have found yourself in this world. And after considerable circumspection answer the following question: what if anything could/would be the solution to your individual situational suffering? It is a widely documented phenomena that self-examination of personal pain and suffering leads to an enlightened sensitivity to the pain and suffering of others. By this process we strengthen our empathic powers. The pillars that hold up our measure of empathy in the face of struggle and enable our empathy to effect change in the world are “love” and “compassion.” Can anyone disagree that any amount of felt increase of love and compassion also increases our sense of happiness. It is best we each develop a specific imagination that can dream a content of solutions for our personal suffering and then use this strengthened focus to imagine solutions for the community of mankind at large.

Change begins with goals. Goals are the incubators of dreams. Dreams are the fertile ground out of which a better way of living arises. At DOC.COM we see a future for the world that is running wild with better angels. We are taking personal responsibility for achieving the goal of free basic healthcare for all in need! Join in the revolution. Go to DOC.com, visit our community on Telegram, Facebook, and Twitter. In the coming months DOC .COM will be expanding its grassroots awareness campaign so be on the lookout for new contact points, stated objectives, and calls to help the expansion reach your local community.
