We believe the shopping behavior of shoppers is very inspired by enriched content in the web, social, and mobile space. If retailers can find interesting connection and help leverage content that inspires shopping behavior then that can drive more engagement and conversion. This is not only true for online commerce, this is very true for offline commerce as well.

At DrGrep we have a mission — we wanted to help offline retailers come online and use social-local-mobile as a channel to attract more shoppers real time instantly. Essentially we want to help them So we built a product where any retailers can bring their business on DrGrep mobile platform with some product images and some title/descriptions. That was the easy part. Things became complicated when we figured out that the #1 challenge for most retailers is that they have no digital content of the product information.

On the contrary the content exists. It exists to the manufacturers or the brands that own the product. And its surprising that the true information of that product is simply not distributed enough so that down in the chain one retailers can use that to personalize his/her offerings to shoppers around them.

Being digital isn’t just about a website or being listed in some website. It’s about content. Its about media that attracts the digital consumers to show interest in products and service. So at DrGrep we think there has to be a better way for retail ecosystem to distribute the authentic product information among each other.

Product distribution network will the be hub of all the authentic product information for those who need them the most. While brands want their product information to be conveyed uniformly across the channels, their distributors, retail partners want them instantly.

Various stakeholders including industry influencers can also be part of this network to discover new kind of products and influence some now and trending brands. On the other hand, this network will be go to network for those who who are building great products and brings the word out to the people to showcase their products and start their brand journey.

We think this kind of distribution model has the potential of eliminating the age old process of distributing the product information within the ecosystem — email, excel, pdf, dropbox, googledrive etc. In a mobile 1st world, retailers would like to have access to the authentic product info on their mobile and distribute the same within their shopper group. And a network like the one we are envisioning can make that possible because it is cloud, mobile, social, and local.
