Pain management involves the treatment of chronic pain in an environment conducive to relief. Diagnosis is often done in pain management clinics, where patients undergo various methods for recovery depending on the service provider.

Traditional methods focus on the use of medications like antidepressants, steroids, and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. Other clinics offer physical therapy, which assists patients through the use of focused exercises designed to strengthen specific parts of the body and reduce pain.

Some clinics take different approaches when it comes to dealing with pain. These methods include acupuncture, meditation, biofeedback, and water therapy. Cognitive behavioral therapy, also offered by pain management clinics, is a form of psychotherapy in which pain is eliminated by modifying the patient’s emotions and behaviors.
