Abandon the “Democrat” label — it’s just another form of dogma, and political parties hold no monopoly on truth or justice. They flip often enough that over the course of your life it’s unlikely the party you are born with will resemble the one that you die with. Not to mention the toxic role they both play in our politics, including the manipulation of religious groups like evangelicals in order to make political gains with no real intent to pursue the policies that they espouse.
