As I am sure you are aware, being a well informed and educated person, there is more to our existence than that which meets the eye.

"Dark" used in the context of "forces", describes a state of existence driven by an extreme focus on serving oneself. The opposite would be those with an extreme focus on serving others often described as being a force associated with "light" or enlightenment. Both extremes are imbalanced and as such produce inefficient results.

Those extremists in service to self have a greater inclination to do "whatever it takes" to benefit themselves without consideration of the affect their actions have on others.

Throughout history we have many examples of those operating from such an extreme position. "They" are the ones who have pushed agendas that have caused great suffering, death, and destruction for humanity.

Think of the wars that have been started for the purpose of self-gratification - the pursuit of power, control, and dominion over others.

Think of the destruction of health, wealth, and wellbeing of others by those wielding such power.

Think of the wanton destruction of the environment and the planet itself, all in the name of personal acquisition and benefit.

On the other hand, extremists in service to others are more inclined to sacrifice themselves for the benefit of others without consideration for how this affects them personally and ultimately, in the big picture, the impact their actions have on the "others" they seek to serve. Martyrdom is an example of this.

While being a martyr may in appearance seem noble, it actually, most often, leads to deprivation for the people they intended to serve.

A classic example of this would be the figure known as Jesus Christ. While the story of his martyrdom is said to be one of salvation for the people he served, look at the great harm his actions actually caused.

Think of the crusades perpetrated by his followers and the death and oppression that resulted.

Think of the injustices that have occured in society as a result of the misinterpretation and misrepresentation of his ministry.

How better served would the world have been had he chosen a less extreme path of service?

These extreme activities bring with them an energy, will, or force, that inspires others creating a momentum like that of a tsunami. It starts out small and grows to a point of devastation.

So, when we speak of "dark forces" we speak of both individuals and groups who operate in the extremes. Those whose self-serving agendas see no casualties or collateral damage as being too great in their pursuit of the goal, will do anything, without regard.

Given, as you well know, the multidimensional structure of the universe, such forces exist on levels unperceived by the vast majority of people. And yes, on a level unconceived, this planet and the solar system it resides in, possesses many resources to be lusted after.

As, well, since Earth is not the only inhabited planet in the universe, there are other-world beings that likewise, have their agendas in connection to the Earth, it's people, and the resources therein.

It is these seen and unseen individuals and groups and the force they generate that I was referring to in my comment on the article.

I was attempting to explain the danger of focusing solely on the tree in the forest of problems rather than the forest and the forces at work in its cultivation and/or destruction.

Disavowing the existence of such "dark forces" serves, whether by intent or not, to distract and confuse thus increasing the opportunity for advantage to be taken by those who seek the cracks.

I hope that I have clarified the "theys" for you.
