NAAMA Foundation’s Charitable Thrusts

Dr. Mounir Boutros received medical training from the Damascus University School of Medicine. Since 2003, he has been serving the residents of Toledo, Ohio, as a medical and surgical dermatologist, treating various conditions such as acne, psoriasis, and skin cancer. A man who doesn’t shy away from his heritage, Dr. Mounir Boutros is an active member of the National Arab American Association (NAAMA).
Incorporated in 1975, NAAMA is a non-profit, non-partisan organization composed of American medical and dental practitioners of Arab descent. Apart from professional representation, the organization is also engaged in humanitarian activities through the NAAMA Foundation.
Created in 1990, the NAAMA Foundation was built in order to help provide medical equipment and supplies, as well as medical education tools, to Arab nations who are in acute need. Detailed on the NAAMA website are the various missions NAAMA Foundation has sponsored for Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine, and Syria through the years.
In addition, NAAMA Foundation extends its help countries outside of the Arab region whenever the need arises. For example, it extended help to South Asia in 2006 in the aftermath of the tsunami that devastated Sri Lanka. It made a concerted effort to help those victimized by the deadly earthquake in Pakistan during the same year.
